Breath work

ABOUT BREATHWORK

Breathing is a simple, safe and scientific exercise accessible to anyone to quickly regulate our autonomic nervous system.

Breathing exercises can impact our stress response, mood, energy levels, sleeping patterns, digestion and more.

Our autonomic nervous system affects the way we breath. With breath work we can flip this around:

through our breathing we can regulate our nervous system.

  • Did you know that the objective of breath work is to manipulate CO2 in our body (lungs and blood), not O2? The reason is that we already have a full tank of oxygen. Co2 and o2 work together. The goal is balance.
  • Did you know that the nose is for breathing and the mouth for eating? Yes, I know you know that, but you might be surprise to know how many people breath with their mouth, instead of their nose, especially while sleeping.
  • Did you know that our main breathing muscle is our diaphragm? When we breath by using predomintly our diaphragm, we practice "belly breathing"
  • Did you know that breath work is a very ancient practice? In yoga tradition breathing came before yoga poses.

With my breathwork program, i will provide you with a very simple framework that allows you to choose the practice that best suits your needs.

We divide breathwork in three categories:

Coffee practice to stimulate.

Water practice to balance

Whiskey practice to relax

The main difference between these 3 categories of practices is the rate of breaths per minute. The slower, the more relaxing (more CO2 in our blood), the quicker, the more stimulating (less CO2 in our blood).

15 min a day of practice would be ideal to improve the strength and coordination of our muscles for breathing!

By better manipulating the CO2 in our body, we can regulate our nervous system quickly and easyly!
